Biomedical Text Data Visualization

Data visualization has become increasingly important in the biomedical domain. With the growth in the size and complexity of biomedical data, it has become crucial to adopt new practices and methods for effectively communicating information and research findings. Data visualization in text can play a vital role in analyzing high-dimensional and complex biomedical information. For text data visualization, word-cloud allows for the analysis of large amount of data by visually representing the frequency or importance of different terms or concepts. It provides a quick and intuitive overview of the most relevant information in a dataset. Also t-SNE, a tool for visualizing high-dimensional data is being used for visualizing the textual data. In this chapter, we focus on visualizing the biomedical text data using word-cloud and applying t-SNE over the embeddings used for text representation. The chapter also highlights several challenges in biomedical data visualization.
