Eco-friendly Chemical Polishing of Copper and Copper Alloys

This paper describes a new eco-friendly bath and process for removing tarnish/corrosion products from copper and its alloys prior to plating or surface finishing operations, in which the bath and process produce a mirror-like finish. The bath contains organic acids with stabilized hydrogen peroxide and proprietary chemicals. The articles to be polished need only simple immersion in the bath at the ambient temperature.
