The UAE’s Energy Policy in the Context of the Energy Transition

摘要

The energy transition has enriched the content of energy security, the UAE's core national interest is to further secure national energy security and take the lead in the new transformation process. The UAE has introduced several specific energy policies to enhance the country's energy capacity and is actively seeking new options to meet domestic energy demand. The UAE has released a series of energy policies to promote renewable energy, and actively advances new energy projects. It also tries to reduce the carbon footprint by reducing emissions from processes such as oil production, and seeks to monitor greenhouse gas emissions and reduce per capita carbon emissions. At the regional level, the UAE has restructured its bilateral relations with Israel, Iran, Qatar, and other countries, bringing a new dimension to the inter-state relations in the Middle East. At the global level, the UAE has strengthened its energy diplomacy with foreign powers and has been actively engaged in energy diplomacy to expand its international influence.
