Design of Folded Slow Wave Structure for 100 W G-Band Traveling Wave Tube

摘要

This paper presents the design and simulation of a slow wave structure (SWS) for a 100 W folded waveguide (FW) traveling wave tube (TWT) in the G-band. High output power is achieved by reforming FW's bent waveguide structure (BWS) and applying phase velocity taper (PVT) technology. Under the operating voltage and current of 23 kV and 80 mA, respectively, the simulated maximum output power is 130.6 W, with electronic efficiency and saturated gain of 7.1% and 36.3 dB, respectively. The bandwidth for power above 100 W is over 10 GHz. This design result supports the engineering design and development of G-band 100 W TWT.
