Design and Fabricated on 0.67-THz Folded Waveguide Circuit

In this paper, a 0.67-THz folded waveguide (FW) circuit has been simulated and tested. The slow wave structure (SWS) has been optimized for working in the frequency range of 0.66–0.68THz. The performance of the TWT has been simulated. The maximum output power is 172mW, and the corresponding gain is 22.3 dB. The input and output couplers have been designed to match the standard rectangular waveguide and the vacuum window. And the SWS has been fabricated by micro electron discharge machining (MEDM) and tested. S11 is generally less than -10 dB, meanwhile the corresponding S21 is greater than -57dB in the frequency range of 0.66–0.68 THz.
