Design Method of the Terahertz Beam Homogenizer

The intensity distribution of terahertz (THz) beam is usually Gaussian, that is, the center is strong and the edge is weak, which makes the background light intensity uneven in many applications such as THz imaging. In severe cases, it even exceeds the dynamic range of the detector, resulting in the saturation of the central area, while the edge area has insufficient illumination, resulting in image distortion. This paper presents a numerical iterative calculation of terahertz spatial homogenizer, which convert the THz beam into an uniform one, and verified by ray-tracing method.
