A 100 MHz Class-E Converter with Switchable-Coupled-Inductor Control for Terahertz System

The paper proposes a class-E resonant converter with a fixed operating frequency of 100 MHz and a 50% duty cycle based on on-chip switchable-coupled-inductor control. Within a range of input variations, the converter consistently achieves zero voltage switching characteristics. The presented converter is implemented 130 nm SOI technology with the active area of 1.9 mm × 2.6 mm, process-compatible for integration into terahertz systems. According to the simulation results, a stable output of 12 V/5.76W is achieved within the variable input range of 19V–15V, with a conversion efficiency ranging from 25.31% to 31.47%.
