Introduction to Carbon Fiber-Reinforced Polymer Composite

This chapter gives a brief introduction on carbon fiber-reinforced polymer composite (CFRP) that is covered in this book. Firstly, the basics of CFRP and its constituents are introduced. Subsequently, the general description and literature review on the degradation of CFRP composite and its constituents under environmental and loading conditions are provided. Afterwards, the motivations and objectives of this book are described. Finally, the general content of this book is outlined.
