Exploring Parent’s Sentiments on Modular Learning: Basis for Kto12 Knowledge Portal Framework

The use of technology especially during COVID-19 pandemic have provided a bridge towards sustainable learning. Although a classic move, the use of modules is still used as one of the effective means aside from the use of flexible learning and blended tools. However, fusing the conservative with digitalization and portals would open up better opportunities for learning. Although, many studies are focused on students and the teachers’ experiences, unseen efforts paid by parents have limited studies provided. This study aimed to explore parents’ sentiments on modular learning modality that could lead to extension project implementation and develop a platform for digital knowledge repository for learning use especially during pandemic. The research used descriptive research design to understand parents’ sentiments on modular learning modality. Findings revealed that the modular distance learning approach (MDLA) played a big role in ensuring that education as sustained despite pandemic due to COVID-19. Likewise, the study found that a framework for digital access of knowledge resources for digital modules would be a solution for a paperless learning platform. Furthermore, the system designed to sustainably provide ready and better implementation of the modular distance learning supported by the use of technology could be adopted as an important part of emergency protocol and even an alternative method for the existing education system.
