摘要

Nowadays, most of the gas turbine components of the aircraft engines are made of Ni and Ti-based superalloys. This paper basically presents a proposal to develop hybrid manufacturing technique for the deposition of HEA and ceramics coatings. An optimized vapor deposition technique can be employed for the deposition of thin and/or thick layers. Coating powders namely YSZ, La2Zr2O7, and Gd2Zr2O7 can be used for the vapor deposition process. TBC can be deposited on the bonding overlay by preparing the ball-milled powders using YSZ, La2Zr2O7, and Gd2Zr2O7 powders in different combinations. These HEA thermal spray powders can also be deposited on the Ni-based superalloys with and without bond materials. The overarching aim of this paper is to overview the TBC coatings for the superalloys used in the aerospace gas turbines. The accomplishment of this project can bring a significant improvement in the performance of aircraft gas turbines. The novel hybrid technique can directly advance the traditional TBC coating deposition processes. The concept of HEA thermal spray coatings can replace the traditional ceramics TBCs. This project can be highly beneficial to the aircraft industry and defense services.
