Emotional intelligence holds a unique fascination in both scholarly works and mainstream education. Ongoing research strives to delineate its boundaries and impact. This article conducts an appraisal of emotional intelligence, scrutinizing diverse models, evaluation methodologies, correlations with interconnected ideas, and its practicality in educational environments. Additionally, it contemplates future research directions, advocating the empowerment of educators across different roles through targeted initiatives. Recently, research on emotional intelligence (EI) has seen a remarkable rise, and EI research solidifies its important position in the field of practical applications of psychology in business. The framework of EI provides insight into a range of human behaviors, which are influenced by factors such as job profiles, recruitment, management strategies and customer interactions In conjunction with concepts such as compassion, spirituality and ‘different intelligences’ together EI is against the idea that higher intellectual ability guarantees success.
