摘要

The digital age has increased access to large and comprehensive sources of data from public and private administrative databases, and new sources of information from online transactions, social-media interactions, and internet searches. The availability of these massive datasets offers up a world of possibilities for studying human behaviour and society through computational analysis. This chapter serves as an introduction to the emerging field of Computational Social Science (CSS) and its potential applications in advancing halal knowledge. It asserts that CSS, as a new discipline, offers unique prospects for researchers in Halal studies. This chapter equips Halal researchers, scholars, and practitioners with the knowledge and insights needed to explore CSS in their research endeavours.
