Intelligent Bridge Maintenance and Management System

This chapter focuses on the necessity and feasibility of building an intelligent bridge maintenance and management system. It further introduces various existing bridge maintenance and management systems and analyzes their advantages and limitations. Toward developing such a system solution as a digital platform, the general functional requirements and capability requirements are presented. Finally, we introduce IntelliBridge, a software system developed by the authors’ team. IntelliBridge provides a complete system architecture for the intelligent bridge operation and maintenance, which can meet the basic needs of current bridge operation and maintenance and can be further enhanced in the future.
