An IoT-Based Animal Health Monitoring System
摘要
Animals contribute significantly to human well-being through various means, serving as companions, enhancing mental health, aiding in rescues during natural disasters, and, in some cases, as a source of food. Therapy dogs and assistance animals play vital roles in supporting individuals with disabilities, offering valuable benefits. Additionally, animals demonstrate their utility by detecting drugs and assisting in herding livestock. With the increasing global demand for food production, the agricultural industry is compelled to enhance livestock management practices for optimal productivity and animal welfare. This research paper explores the integration of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies into systems that monitor animal health. The study investigates the development, implementation, and evaluation of a robust IoT-based infrastructure designed for real-time monitoring of various aspects of animal well-being. The proposed system relies on a network of strategically positioned sensors and sensor nodes within the pet environment to gather data on crucial health metrics, including temperature, heart rate, and activity levels. The results emphasize the potential for IoT technologies to revolutionize the pet industry, fostering a harmonious balance between improved productivity and ethical treatment of animals.
