Elevator-Based Earth Tremor Sentinel Technique with MQTT Protocol

This article provides elevator earthquake real-time detection and alerting. While seismometers can capture earthquakes, they are unable to capture high-frequency vibrations. A gadget fitted with accelerometers detects high-frequency vibrations and includes processors that record anddisplay earthquake signals in real time, providing alarm messages to elevator users. The principle of this project is to provide an effective performance to address the issue of false alarms. Artificial neural network (ANN) mechanisms were used and the ANN algorithm was trained with the previously occurred earthquake data. Parameters included for training the ANN are the X, Y, and Z axes of the accelerometer and vibration sensor. With these parameters, ANN will compare the present data with previous data and decide whether it is a false alarm or not. After recording the output using an accelerometer and vibration using a vibration sensor, the data is sent to the cloud using the MQTT protocol for further use and displays the EAQ alert message on the LCD. In the event of a disaster, if it finds out it is a true alarm, then the elevator will automatically go to the nearest floor. This allows passengers to safely exit from the elevator in case of an earthquake.
