IoT-Based Fault Monitoring of Industrial Drives Using Multimodal Sensor Signals
摘要
Today, Induction Motor (IM) is the most widespread motor used in industries. Defects in IM lead to various failures in IM which increase costs for the industry. In this paper, we have discussed a fault monitoring system which is cost-effective as compared to other systems. This proposed system monitors IM factors such as speed in rpm, thermal effect, motor input current, and motor supply voltage using an Arduino microcontroller. Using these factors, we can easily identify faults such as overload, rotor winding faults, unbalanced magnetic pull, creep, and low voltage. The IM is disconnected from the input power supply using a relay during fault conditions. The proposed system also includes a speed control system which can adjust the speed of the IM to the preferred value. This reduces the need for additional motors as the same motor can be used to drive different devices. The proposed system can reduce the large maintenance cost.
