Smart Electronic Speaking Glove for Physically Challenged Person
摘要
For the benefit of patients who are unable to speak, this document is intended to make communication through synthesised voice simple. A person who is unable to speak typically uses sign language, which is not understood by most people. The proposed research work is to address the issue mentioned above. In order to communicate with people audibly, the user's finger movements will be translated into synthesised voice. For instance, in a life-threatening emergency, patients can send messages to doctors. Multiple flex sensors composed of ‘bend-sensitive resistance elements’ are built into the glove's interior. Flex sensors cause a proportional change in the value of resistance for each individual gesture. The PIC16f877A microcontroller unit, which is preprogrammed to speak preferred sentences, controls the operation of household appliances, and sends messages to doctors and other important people using a GSM module in emergency situations, receives a specific set of signals after processing this information. In order to produce the output for this article, we employed a microcontroller, a voice playback IC, a GSM module, a relay, as well as a speaker.
