In this chapter the role of spiritualitySpirituality in social group work, particularly within the Indian cultural framework is explored. The chapter discusses key spiritual concepts such as Tatvam Asi, Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, and Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah, highlighting their significance in fostering a sense of interconnectedness and well-being among group members. It emphasizes how spiritually sensitive social work practices can enhance therapeutic outcomes by aligning interventions with clients’ spiritual beliefs and values. The chapter provides practical guidance on incorporating spirituality into group work, demonstrating how this approach can deepen group cohesion, promote healing, and support holistic development.
