Bioinformatics Analysis of Terahertz Photons on Breast Cancer Cells

摘要

Although it has been shown that terahertz (THz) waves can lead to epigenetic changes in cancer cells, little is known about the therapeutic effects of THz waves on cancer. Here, the gene expression changes of MCF-7 cells after THz exposure are showed using differentially expressed genes analysis. GO enrich analysis showed that endocytosis and exocytosis are related to 33THz stimulation. Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) analysis showed that 33THz photons irradiation may have significant effect on estrogen signaling pathway. Estrogen receptors play an important role in endocytosis, growth and migration of breast cancer cells. Therefore, this study speculates that 33THz wave may affects tumor growth and migration by manipulating estrogen receptors and estrogen signaling pathway. In summary, this article provides a possible application of 33THz wave on breast cancer treatment.
