摘要

TRPM8 channels, referred to “cold receptors”, play a crucial role in the sensory nervous system, specifically responding to cold temperatures and stimuli. Recent studies have highlighted the potential impact of terahertz waves on biomolecular structures and functions. Through the calculation of the rotation spectrum of the S6 chain within TRPM8 and subsequent analysis of its rotation mode, our research has identified a prominent absorption peak in the terahertz range associated with the collective rotation of TRPM8. Moreover, when subjected to terahertz waves at frequencies corresponding to this main absorption peak, we observed a significant increase in the kinetic energy of the S6 chain within the protein compared to conditions without terahertz radiation. This observation suggests that terahertz waves at specific frequencies can exert a biological effect on the activation of the TRPM8 protein. Our findings underscore the feasibility of regulating proteins using terahertz waves at characteristic frequencies, shedding light on the intricate mechanisms through which terahertz electromagnetic signals influence protein behavior.
