Mechanism of Terahertz Wave on Calcium Channels

摘要

L-type Ca2+ channels (LTCCs) play a vital role in excitation-contraction coupling and release of hormones from secretory cells. Abnormal Ca2+ fluxes arising from dysfunctional LTCCs has been associated with a list of calcium channelopathies such as hypertensive and arrhythmic. Here, we theoretically analyze the mechanism of increasing the conductance in LTCCs by a 42.5 Terahertz wave. We have proved that 42.5 THz could affect the hydrogen bonds from between Ca2+ inner-shell hydration waters and the side oxygens with respect to the Ca2+ position.
