摘要

We propose a real-time terahertz (THz) power detection method based on the terahertz-thermoacoustic (THz-TA) effect. Our self-made THz transmitter operates at a center frequency of 0.17 THz with a maximum output power of 92.8 mW. The test results reveal a linear relationship between the amplitude of THz-TA signals and the output power of the THz transmitter within the range of 2.8–92.8 mW (Pearson correlation coefficient, R = 0.99571). Additionally, we observe that the time interval of the TA signal evoked by THz is consistent with the pulse width of the THz signal (0.5, 1, 2, and 5 ms). Thus, the THz-TA technology enables real-time THz power detection and provides insights into the pulse width of amplitude-modulated terahertz signals.
