Metasurface-Based Terahertz Biosensors

Metasurface-based terahertz (THz) sensors are a developing technology for label-free, non-destructive and rapid sensing. Recent research has confirmed that the sensors own prominent advantages compared with traditional methods in cell monitoring, biomolecular identification and biochemical trace detection realms. The impressive progress of metasurface-based THz biosensors, such as modulation methods, sensing principles, cell monitoring and biomolecular recognition, as well as the prospects, is reviewed and discussed in this article.
