Hyperparathyroidism of Renal Origin
摘要
Chronic kidney disease is the most common cause of secondary hyperparathyroidism. Increased serum phosphorous is secondary to increased phosphorous due to decreased GFR and decreased calcium due to decreased calcitriol. Both these consequences result in stimulation of parathyroid gland to produce more parathyroid hormone which is the basis for secondary hyperparathyroidism.
