EV Charging Station Using Full-Bridge DC-DC Converter Using Solar Energy

As the world increasingly looks for solutions that are not only eco-friendly but also sustainable in the field of transportation, electric vehicles (EVs) have gained popularity. To support this transition, the development of efficient and environmentally friendly charging infrastructure is crucial. If electric vehicles have to popular with the common man, it is essential to provide infrastructure by way of charging stations every few kilometers. In some places access to main grid might not be possible. This project presents an innovative approach to charging EVs using renewable energy sources, in particular, solar integrated with a Full-Bridge Isolated DC-DC Converter. The proposed EV charging station reduces to a large extent carbon emissions and dependence on fossil fuels, be it coal or petrol or diesel, by drawing energy from renewable sources. By harnessing the power of the sun and wind, the system not only contributes to a cleaner environment but also provides a reliable energy source that can significantly reduce operating costs over the long term. The Full-Bridge Isolated DC-DC Converter serves as a critical component in efficiently managing and transforming the variable renewable energy inputs into a suitable form for EV charging.
