Analysis of Normal and Standing Upper SU 5 Category Para-Shuttle Badminton Performance Parameters Using Dartfish

Badminton is one of the famous sports that is played in 176 member nations around the world, with five continental confederations organized by the BWF. With the help of video analysis, we can find the strengths and weaknesses of the player, which will be very helpful in improving their performance. Also, the game’s statistics are analyzed with the help of the data that has been tagged in the form of an Excel sheet. The errors they make are identified with the help of video data by tagging events and visualizing the data, which is also an inherent feature of Dartfish. This work focuses on the comparative analysis of normal and standing Upper SU 5 category para-badminton players with the help of video. This analysis will help the para-badminton players improve their performance by taking insights from the generated report. The normal match was downloaded from YouTube with better quality, and the para-badminton match was shot in real time during the Chief Minister’s Trophy that was held in 2023 at Tamil Nadu Physical Education and Sports University, Chennai is used to analyze. At the end of this work, the data that we took from both matches is compared, and statistical data is provided. Using this type of analysis, the para-player's ability when compared to the normal person’s ability can be measured, and the coach can improve their performance with the help of the video montage that is shared using the cloud platform. This can be accessed by both the players and coaches for their betterment in upcoming games.
