摘要

Volunteers play a crucial role in the operation of sporting events. When there is a large number of volunteers required, more information regarding their personal details, preferred tasks, and skills is required to be stored. This information must be stored in a proper place to prevent tedious problems to occur. There are a few problems encountered, one of them is managing the volunteers in the sporting event because the manual scheduling process consumes a lot of time and is generally ineffective. Then, the inadequate number of skilled volunteers for certain sports occurred. Thus, the objectives are to develop a web-based Sports Volunteer Scheduling System with the implementation of round-robin scheduling algorithms and to analyze the accuracy, actual and average waiting time, and turnaround time of the algorithm in scheduling volunteers for the sports event. The results obtained show that the round-robin scheduling algorithm achieved 100% accuracy in allocating volunteers for the event. It also managed to assign the sports and venues to all volunteers in the database based on their skill and task preference. When the number of volunteers increases, the performance metrices to analyze the round-robin scheduling algorithms also increase. As a result, the web-based Sports Volunteer Scheduling System with the implementation of round-robin scheduling algorithm can equally assign volunteers who share the same task preference and skill to a specific sport and venue.
