摘要

The aerobic capacity is a prerequisite for high training and competitive performance in judo. However, there is a lack of emphasis on appropriate cardiovascular training for judokas in the maintenance of their aerobic performance. Therefore, this study was conducted to compare the aerobic capacity of Johor judo athletes before and after four weeks of cardiovascular training. A total of six judo athletes aged between 18 and 20 years old were selected as subjects in this research. A 20 m shuttle run test was conducted to measure aerobic capacity before and after a four-weeks cardiovascular training program. The results of mean and standard deviation for pre-test was 39.9 ± 6.2 and for post-test was 43.0 ± 6.2. The means of VO2max for both groups were compared using a dependent T-test in Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS). The findings showed that there is a significant difference (p ≤ 0.001) in the aerobic capacity of judo athletes before and after training cardiovascular. Thus, it can be confirmed that this four-weeks cardiovascular training program is suitable to be implemented to increase the aerobic capacity of judo athletes, as well as a training guide to improve the performance of judo athletes.
