Reactions of Ceramics: Oxides, Nitride, Carbide, Sulfides, etc.

This chapter describes the shock reactions of ceramics, including oxides, nitrides, carbides, sulfides, etc. High-pressure forms display novel properties due to different bonds from the low-pressure forms. There are many active studies on shock synthesis and the development of novel ceramics through the lens of Hugoniot measurements to explore new high-pressure forms.
