Hosting the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris: The Standpoint of Sports People with Disabilities

The purpose of this paper is to sound out the opinion of French people with disabilities, who engage in regular physical or sports activity, on the hosting of the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris. On the basis of a quantitative survey, the aim is to identify the extent of their opinions, more or less favourable, their fears and their concerns. The results show that the surveyed population has important similarities with the non-disabled population, but also several specific aspects. These are related to the integration dimension of the event and its legacy: the questions linked to accessibility and perception of disabled people after the Games thus emerge as the respondents’ significant concerns.
