Supporting Reflective Teaching Strategies in an Analytics-Driven Learning Ecosystem: Cases of Using LEAF System from India and Japan
摘要
Learning Analytics (LA) is a growing field focusing on capturing, analyzing, and utilizing data from teaching-learning contexts. It aims to facilitate a better understanding of the learning experiences and thereby enhance it. This paper demonstrates the Learning and Evidence Analytics Framework (LEAF) platform which is designed and developed in Kyoto University in Japan to facilitate data-driven real-world education. We point to the research findings from a sustained collaboration between researchers and educators who adopted the LEAF platform in different university classroom teaching contexts in Japan as well as in India. These research cases highlight how LEAF supports reflective practices in an analytics-driven learning ecosystem. Lastly, we discuss the implications for adopting LA-driven approaches across institution and countries.
