Technological progress forces companies to deal with new technologies and corresponding software implementation. At the same time, the recent COVID-19 pandemic and emerging disruptive technologies, such as ChatGPT, for marketing have reinforced this trend. The more intensive use of software in marketing brings challenges as experts try to avoid mistakes resulting from a lack of experience. Guidelines offer a clear method for designing orderly processes and assisting with implementation, and this paper seeks to develop just such an aid for software implementation in marketing. These guidelines should outline a process structure and detail the necessary steps to minimize costs and errors during implementation. The guidelines are based on literature research and interviews with 45 experts to gather general and marketing-related insights into software adoption. The findings have been supplemented by scientific research to identify the critical process components and root them in the guidelines. The resulting outcome covers three main areas, from the definition of objectives and the derivation of actions to the selection and implementation of the appropriate software solution. The goals establish the marketing focus and derive specific steps and software options. The introduction of the software takes place both at the technical level and with regular employees, facilitating the implementation process and improving the chances of success.

摘要
