Impact of Co-Gasification in a Fluidized Bed Gasifier Using Dolomite as a Catalyst

Feedstock flexibility is a significant factor in the commercialization of fluidized bed gasifiers. The goal of the current study was to evaluate the performance of a pressurized circulating fluidized bed gasifier (PCFBG) using mixtures of sawdust and coal with dolomite as a catalyst. The trials are carried out while maintaining an equivalency ratio of 0.22. The experiments take place at a temperature of 673–973 K. 5, 10, 15, 20, and 25% weight percentages of sawdust mixes with low-grade Indian coal, which has a mean particle width of 600 microns, have also been tried. There is a maximum 8% increase in LHV at a 10% blending ratio. Dolomite was used as a catalyst in the research, and it was found that the amount of tar was decreasing. The highest CGE was found to be 63% in the 15% sawdust coal blend. A maximum deterioration of 38% is conceivable with a 25% mixing ratio.
