Study on the Necessity and Existing Problems of Energy Efficiency Services Among Urban Residents
摘要
In order to promote energy saving and carbon reduction among non-high energy consumption groups, this paper studied the energy consumption of urban residents in Jiangsu province from 2012 to 2021, and the influencing factors, the necessity, current situation and existing problems of the development of energy efficiency services in urban residents were analyzed. The results showed that electricity and natural gas were the primary energy sources of urban residents. The total electricity consumption increased by 92.73% from 23.06 billion kWh (2012) to 44.45 billion kWh (2021). The consumption intensity increased by 56.79%, and the total and intensity of electricity consumption increased significantly, with 2021 of 44.451 billion kWH and 706.81 kWH respectively, compared with 2012, it increased by 92.73% and 56.79% respectively, accounting for a significant increase in the proportion of electricity consumption in the whole society. Natural gas consumption increased by 171.44% from 1.22 to 3.31 billion Nm3, and consumption intensity increased by 120.83%. Population, per capita housing area, and per capita disposable income have important impacts on energy consumption. Therefore, it is necessary to promote energy efficiency among urban residents in order to save energy and reduce carbon emission. However, some problems, such as the lack of knowledge of energy efficiency services, the low benefits, and the fear of inadequate technology, resulted in lower participation willingness of urban residents in energy efficiency services. Therefore, to implement energy efficiency services among urban residents, it needs to expand publicity and develop efficient products.
