Characteristics of Various Freight Categories Transported on Expressway in China
摘要
The study explores the characteristics of various freight categories transported on cross-provincial expressways. Based on the charge data from toll stations, the survey on freight categories transported on expressways was performed for K-prototypes clustering analysis and the characteristics of various freight categories transported on expressway were analyzed in terms of freight volume, transportation distance and freight flow. The analysis results showed that the freight with long transportation distance, large freight volume, low specialization degree of transportation vehicle, and high degree of delivery concentration accounted for a large proportion of bulk freight transported by expressways, whereas the freight with short transportation distance, small freight volume, high specialization degree of transportation vehicle, and low degree of delivery concentration accounted for a large proportion of the freight with high added values. The results can be used to guide the identification of the freight categories suitable for railway transportation and provide the theoretical basis and decision-making references for continuous adjustment and optimization of transportation structure.
