Research on Road Driving Skills Analysis of Human Drivers Based on Traffic Datasets

The road driving skills of drivers are an important factor affecting traffic safety. With the emergence of autonomous vehicle, autonomous vehicle will share the road traffic environment with human driven vehicles in the coming decades. For autonomous vehicle, it is very important to learn and master the road driving skills possessed by human drivers. In this article, we study and analyze the safe driving skills that drivers should possess based on the traffic dataset of highway confluence areas. This transportation dataset consists of 30 min of actual vehicle data, consisting of 760 small cars, including 62 merging vehicles, with a total driving distance of 109.8 km and a total driving time of 1.58 h. Through the research on the speed, acceleration, location distribution and other indicators of vehicles merging in the merging area, this paper analyzes the safe driving skills that drivers should have when merging vehicles. The analysis and research based on the safe driving skills of human drivers can not only provide a basis for the design of decision-making parameters of autonomous vehicle, but also be used for driving ability evaluation, providing a theoretical basis for screening qualified new drivers.
