Management of Information for the New Normal and Sustainability

This chapter explores the crucial role of information management in International Development and Aid Projects (IDAPs), particularly in response to global disruptions like COVID-19. Emphasizing ICT readiness for resilience, the chapter provides a framework integrating theoretical insights with practical strategies from field experiences. It outlines a Data Management Lifecycle (DML) for IDAPs, addressing the design, collection, cleaning, transmission, analysis, sharing, and retention of data. Programmatic areas for the adoption of ICT within IDAPs include information provision, case management, cash assistance distribution, training programs, and AI integration, balancing benefits with risks. The chapter concludes by proposing project management processes that enhance transparency and accountability in information management for effective program implementation and sustainability.
