Experimental and Numerical Investigation of Tensile Strength of Hybrid Flax–Glass Epoxy Reinforced Composite

摘要

This study investigates the tensile strength of a hybrid composite material made of flax and glass fibers with an epoxy matrix. Tensile test helps determine how composites respond to stretching and provides valuable insights into their mechanical behavior and performance. Tensile testing was performed in accordance with ASTM D3039. The results showed that the hybrid composite material exhibited higher tensile strength compared to pure flax fiber composite. The experimental data were analyzed using statistical techniques, and numerical models were developed using ANSYS software to predict and compare the tensile strength of the composite material. This study provides valuable insights into the mechanical behavior of hybrid flax–glass epoxy composites and demonstrates their potential for use in various applications.
