Design and Structural Analysis of Quadcopter for Medicine Package Delivery

摘要

Unmanned aerial vehicles have the potential for making a huge impact in the area of logistics and transport. The drone-based delivery of medicines to the required locations is gaining prominence nowadays. Hence, our project is focused on design of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), also known as a quadcopter or multicopter, that can deliver medicine packages and is lightweight, inexpensive, and able to carry more weight. A well-designed quadcopter that can deliver this package more quickly than vehicles, at a lower cost, and in an efficient manner is needed to accomplish this. The drone is designed using CAD modeling software. The drone parameter, static analysis, and maximum and minimum stress dependent on various parameters are also included in the paper. The carbon fiber material’s mechanical strength is used as the basis for structural analysis. This paper investigates an optimized drone design that aims to reduce deformation at higher stresses while maintaining strength and weight. From the analysis, it is found that there is no effect to the rotor’s propellers and other components. Also, the strength and resistance capacity are increased due to the usage of carbon fiber material.
