Design and Development of a Simple Table Mount Rotor-Dynamic Test Rig

To Improve the performance of mechanical devices, the rotor-bearing system’s dynamic characteristics must be carefully studied during the preliminary design stage. While mathematical and numerical models are useful, hands-on experimentation is crucial for validating results and gaining practical experience. This study proposes a tabletop-mounted rotor-bearing-seal system for experimental study, featuring detachable parts and speed/behavior measurement capabilities. Experimental results will validate models and provide practical insights into rotor dynamics, aiding in the design process and ensuring success. Overall, this study aims to improve mechanical devices through experimental methods.
