Climate Change and Its Impact on Supply Chain: A Sourcing Case Study to Effect Industrial Ecology

The chapter is based on a research study to assist a sourcing company located in Hamburg in devising its long-term strategy regarding cotton-based products. Considering the importance of indigenous cotton yield within a country, any sourcing company continues to hunt for suitable supply locations to buy products and ensure supply chain responsiveness and efficiency. The research is based on the impact of climate change on textile manufacturing companies in the context of industrial ecology. Future climatic conditions are projected to foresee the severity of climate change, gathering climate-related data from governmental and global climate sources.
