摘要

Female entrepreneurs (FE) play a fundamental part in the economic growth of any country. It contributes to industrialization, creating wealth and reducing unemployment. Earlier, very few women chose entrepreneurship as their career as it was male-dominated for generations. After all, in this age of computerized information, with better educational facilities, they have become more aware, enabling them to venture into this male-driven space. However, in India, where nearly 48.41% of the population is female, the number of female enterprises is only 13.76%. They face gender barriers while attempting the new venture and also during the running phase. Hence, the paper identifies and discusses the various gender-specific barriers and the challenges they undergo during their entrepreneurial journey by reviewing numerous literature.
