Diabetic Retinopathy Determination Using Deep Learning Approach

Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is an ophthalmic complication which is triggered by diabetes that causes vision loss and can potentially lead to blindness. The vision loss that happens is irreversible which makes early detection of the condition from fundus and optical coherence tomography (OCT) images very important. But detecting the condition through manual procedures with the help of radiologists is error-prone and very expensive in terms of time and money. Several data science solutions are able to detect DR but with low accuracy and precision. This study aims to detect DR and classify it into two groups, namely No_DR and DR.
