Malware Detection Insights, Mechanisms and Future Perspectives for Android Applications

摘要

As Android devices gain widespread popularity, the integration of Android applications into our digital lives becomes increasingly significant. However, this surge in usage has also brought about a rise in malicious software targeting the Android platform. This research delves into the multifaceted landscape of detecting malicious Android applications, offering insights, mechanisms, and potential future perspectives. This research explores various types of malware, detailing their characteristics and consequences. Additionally, it scrutinizes the techniques employed by researchers, analysing both traditional and contemporary detection methods, their strengths, and limitations against evolving and sophisticated malware strains. To enhance our defence mechanisms, this paper proposed a hybrid malware detection procedure combining signature analysis and a blockchain environment, integrated with application permission and behavioural analysis. This comprehensive exploration equips us to fortify defences against ongoing and emerging Android malware threats.
