摘要

While AI is believed to have significant potential for employees in boosting the management of internal business processes and the delivery of services, there are several organizations which are in the nascent stages of AI adoption where employees have just begun to engage directly with AI. Employees are different and diverse when it comes to their gender, age, qualification, and experience, and as such, these demographic characteristics may have effect on the intention to use AI. This study particularly captures the intention to use AI by studying the influence of demographic characteristics of employees on their intention to use AI in its early adoption stage. Data collected from 264 employees from various organizations that are in the early stages of AI adoption in business processes was analyzed using SPSS 23.0. t-test, and Duncan’s post hoc test helps us gauge the difference in intention to use AI with respect to age, gender, and qualification. Pearson correlation test shows significant relationship of intention to use AI with age, gender, and qualification. Stepwise regression model identifies only age as the significant determinant of intention to use AI, implying that younger employees have higher intention to use AI as compared to older employees.
