摘要
Amid the COVID1-19 pandemic, it became necessary to implement emergency remote teaching and learning. This paper outlines the process of transitioning a User Interface Programming course, which is a high-enrollment first-year subject, into an online learning format. .Face-to-face lessons and conventional assessment methods were shifted to an online learning environment. When developing the programming course, the following elements were taken into account: organization and layout of the Learning Management System site, online learning tools and resources, and assessment. The in-depth description of the transitioning of the course into an online learning format can be helpful to educators in various fields in designing effective online learning environments. The paper also reports on the online learning experience of the students. The results showed that most students had a positive online learning experience. Notably, feedback from students showed a lot of variances in the students’ opinions regarding their preference for online learning.
