Application of Sharia Hotels to CHSE Protocols and Adherence to Sharia Principles: Case Study of Grand Rohan Jogja Hotel

In the new normal era after the COVID-19 pandemic, the halal tourism sector began to stretch again among the efforts made by halal tourism actors to revive halal tourism after the pandemic is ensuring the implementation of Sharia hotels against CHSE health protocols and compliance with Sharia principles. CHSE stands for cleanliness, health, safety, and environment sustainability. The application of CHSE and adherence to Sharia principles is interesting to study because it has been proven that the application of Sharia hotels to CHSE and its adherence to Sharia principles attracts more hotel guests, so hotel occupancy rates are higher. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the extent to which the application of Sharia hotels in Yogyakarta, especially Grand Rohan Jogja Hotel, to CHSE and its compliance with Sharia principles. The research method used is qualitative research. The research data consists of primary and secondary data. In addition, observations and interviews have been conducted to extract information directly from the informants concerned. The findings of this study are that Grand Rohan Jogja Hotel has implemented the CHSE protocol and received recognition from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy in the form of a CHSE certificate. In addition, Grand Rohan Jogja Hotel adheres to Sharia principles as stipulated by the Indonesian Ulema Council so that guests feel comfortable staying.
