Assessing the Security and Privacy Implications of File-Sharing Applications
摘要
In today’s world, file-sharing is an essential aspect of our day-to-day activities in the digital world. File-sharing systems provide us the ease of convenience of sharing files either publicly or privately. Moreover, through peer-to-peer connections, companies and organizations use file-sharing system applications to provide the best service they can offer users. Understanding the security of these platforms is crucial and substantial to protect the users’ data, ensure their online privacy, and prevent and mitigate any phishing attacks toward the user. The researchers will conduct a vulnerability assessment focusing on three mobile Android file-sharing applications in the market using Mobile Security Framework (MobSF). Moreover, the assessment will provide the necessary results and awareness of any vulnerabilities these file-sharing applications have and the possible mitigation they might have.
