Comparing Various DC–DC Converters for Recharging EV Batteries
摘要
This chapter discusses the most applied topologies in electrical vehicles (EVs). First, the most essential EVs on-board charger (obc) is plug-in type. It has been found that both built-in and external charging options are available for charging vehicles. Both conductive and inductive charging technologies exist to be used on-board. Because of size, weight, and space constraints, most obcs are only backward compatible with level 1 and 2 chargers. The two stages of obcs are the AC/DC (or primary) stage and the DC/DC (or secondary) stage. Both the converters are proposed in the literature, although with very different topologies. The various electric vehicle chargers and power electronics converter topologies are presented in this chapter and analyzed with its efficiency and application suitability.
