摘要

The rapid expansion of users all over the world has led to a significant surge in the demand for load balancing in cloud. Cloud computing has gained immense popularity due to its extensive range of services, scalability, fault tolerance, and on-demand usage. Consequently, efficient resource management and reliable network resource allocation have become essential to handle incoming loads effectively. To achieve this, load balancing algorithms play a crucial role in ensuring optimal utilization of cloud resources. Fog computing, an extension of cloud computing is used to provide cloud-layer services to Internet of Things (IoT) devices situated at the edge of any given network. By utilizing fog nodes, the latency of computation for IoT applications is reduced, resulting in enhanced performance and execution speed. This study focuses on the architecture of fog computing, ongoing research trends, review of load balancing for hybrid cloud-fog computing, challenges, and diverse applications.
